To make a great pinball machine, it takes a combination of attractive art and innovative game design. For the pinball enthusiast, it takes playing the game and having fun!
Growing up, I played pinball in the arcades down at the Shore at bowling alleys, candy stores, coffee shops, in upstate NY, and in the student center at college. I became a collector in 1990.
Being a great player, I had fun playing for hours. There was always a challenge to score some more points by getting the ball to the top of the playfield when it got down near the flippers.
NY and NJ were big on Add-A Ball games and replays, which were especially fun to play. Today’s pinball shows and pinball museums offer the best choice of games to play and are akin to the arcades.
